Mary A. Glassman
Mary A. Glassman is First Selectman for the Town of Simsbury, home to 24,000 residents and nestled between the Talcott Mountain Ridge and the West Mountain Ridge along the picturesque Farmington River. Mrs. Glassman was elected the Town's chief executive officer in 2007 and previously served as its First Selectman from 1991-1999. Mrs. Glassman has a long history of public service. She formerly worked at the state Capitol as special counsel to former Speaker of the House Moira Lyons and former Senate President Kevin Sullivan. She also served as chief of staff in the Lt. Governor's Office. Mrs. Glassman is also the former Director of Legislative Affairs at CT Voices for Children, a non-profit advocacy organization dedicated to serving the children in need in Connecticut.
An attorney by profession, Mrs. Glassman was in private practice with the law firm of Pepe & Hazard. She is a lifelong resident of Connecticut and is a native of New Britain. She is a graduate of the University of Connecticut with a degree in journalism and received a law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law.~
