Come into the Town Clerk’s Office during regular business hours. The staff here will help you find your deed in the Land Records. Photocopies cost $1.00 per page. Land Records are open to the public and anyone may get copies. Copies are not available by Fax or on the Town’s web site. For Land Record recording fees, click on Fees/Services Table

Mail the original release (a.k.a. satisfaction, discharge) to the Town Clerk’s Office with a check to cover the recording fees. If the release is a single page, the fee will be $43.00. Make your check payable to Town of Simsbury. You may come in person to record, also. The original document will be returned to you.

How do I get a fishing license or a hunting license?
Come into the Town Clerk’s Office in person or have someone else come in on
your behalf. A resident hunting license, not more than 5 years old, or your Connecticut state-issued hunter safety card is required in order for us to issue a current hunting license.
If you are under 16 years of age, you do not need a fishing license.
If you are 65 years old or older and a resident of Connecticut, you are entitled to a Lifetime License at no charge. Bring your driver’s license as proof of age.
How do I register my business name in Simsbury?
Mail in a completed Trade Name Certificate with the $5.00 filing fee. A Notary Public should witness you sign the form. Make your check payable to Town of Simsbury. You may come to our office in person, also.

Come in person to the Town Clerk’s Office. You are required to register with the town in which you live. You may register in the town where you work. The fee, payable to the town, is $10.00. You will be asked to sign a signature card that is kept on file in the town clerk’s office.

You only need to file one time in the town where you live. As soon as you move into town, bring the original, or a copy certified by another town clerk, to the Town Clerk’s Office. We will make a photocopy for our records and return the original to you. There is no fee for this service. You may file anytime during the year. If you qualify, filing before October 1 will affect your property tax bill the following year.

How do I get to your office?
Simsbury Town Offices, Police Department, and Board of Education Offices are
all at the same location: 933 Hopmeadow Street. Hopmeadow Street is also known as Route 10/202.
The offices are in a brownstone building on the west side of Route10. Parking spaces and the main entrance are on the north side of the building. A staircase leads up to the Town Offices.
The Police Department is on the lower level. Please check in with the Police Dispatcher if you need to speak with a member of the Department.
The Board of Education Offices are on the top floor.
An elevator is available by taking the ramp down to the Police Department and going through the vestibule. The elevator goes to all levels of the building.
