A bi-partisan elected body the Board's primary function is to hear applications for variances from the Zoning Regulations in which enforcement of regulations could result in unusual hardship. In addition, the Board serves as an agent for the State of Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles to hear and act upon applications for Certificates of Approval for automotive sales, repairs, and the sale of gasoline products. Finally, the Board hears cases where applicants allege errors in the Zoning Enforcement Officer's orders.
