Simsbury farms Complex Committee

Minutes: A quorum was not present.
Parks /Golf maintenance facility: Requirements for the centralized facility will be finalized this spring. The maintenance sub committee will meet with appropriate personnel in April to evaluate the proposed layout.
Simsbury Farms Main Building: The Master Plan which recommended renovation and expansion of the present facility will be modified to consider an alternate concept. This new concept recommends that the Apple Barn become the “Main Building”: for the Simsbury Farms Complex and the present main building be used exclusively to service swim and ice administrative needs.
Specifically, the following was recommended:
· Upgrade the present “main building” to meet the specific needs of pool and swim i.e. new toilets, showers, changing rooms, snack bar, etc
· Renovate/Expand Apple Barn to accommodate special functions, programs, administrative personnel and potential banquets.
· Remove homes adjacent to the Apple Barn
· Redirect Apple Barn road to intersect with the proposed golf course access road.
· Visit other similar facilities to obtain pertinent feedback.
The Town will issue an RFP to solicit architectural bids to evaluate this new concept.
Access Road: Request has been submitted. Funding could be available in early summer assuming the project is approved.
