How does the revaluation affect my motor vehicle taxes?
Motor vehicle taxes will be calculated using the new mill rate, which will be lower than it was for the previous year. Please use the new mill rate to calculate the 2008 motor vehicle tax.

Example:
July 1, 2007 tax on a car with a 2006 assessment of $10,000 at 36.9 mills is $369.00.

July 1, 2008 tax on that same car with a 2007 assessment of $10,000 at 29.6 mills is $296.00.

The tax reduction is $73.00.

The tax reduction on this vehicle could be more, since motor vehicle assessments often decline from year to year.
