What the Mill Rate means:
For every $1,000 of assessment you pay $31.58. Example: If your motor vehicle is assessed at $1,500 your taxes would be $47.37.
The Sewer Use Fees for July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011 will stay the same at $320.00 a year. Those bills will be mailed out the last week of June 2010 and are due by August 2, 2010.
Tax Reminder
Taxes due July 1, 2010.
The last day to pay without a penalty is August 2, 2010. (Postmarks of August 2, 2010 will be accepted)
Taxes due at this time are for the first installment on real estate and personal property on any business. Those bills were mailed out the last week of June.
Total motor vehicle taxes are due July 1, 2010 with the last day to pay without penalty by August 2, 2010.
Total sewer use taxes are due July 1, 2010 with the last day to pay without penalty by August 2, 2010
Penalty for Late Payment
If payment is not made within one month of the due date, the installment will become delinquent and subject to interest at the rate of 1.5% per month from the due date. As of Aug. 2, 2010 and Feb. 1, 2011, a total of 3% interest is due on the taxes unpaid from the original due date of either July 1, 2010 or January 1, 2011. AS THE OWNER OF TAXABLE PROPERTY, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE TO SEE THAT TAXES ARE PAID WHEN DUE.
Payment By Mail
Payments post-marked as of August 2, 2010 by the USPS are NOT DELINQUENT for the first installment. Payments post-marked as of Feb 1, 2011 by the USPS are NOT DELINQUENT for the second installment

Back Tax Notation on Bill
If the notation “Back Taxes” appears on your bill, call the tax office for updated interest charges on what you already owe. Back taxes and interest must be paid in full before payment on current bills can be accepted. If you have back taxes they must be paid with cash, bank check or money order.
Penalty for Returned Checks
If your check is returned unpaid by the bank, an additional fee of $25.00 will be added to your balance due. In addition, you may be charged a penalty by your bank.
