Welcome residents and visitors to the Town of Simsbury's website. We are proud to share with you some exciting news.
Simsbury has been selected as the first and only town in Connecticut to make the National Trust for Historic Preservation's list of Dozen Distinctive Destinations.
Nominated by Simsbury Main Street Partnership, Inc., Simsbury was selected for its rural New England charm that is laced with environmental consciousness and a commitment to preserving a strong centuries-old past.
Whether you are a first-time visitor or long-time resident, I encourage you to visit the many wonderful things our town has to offer - from our diverse mix of restaurants and shops, to our hiking and biking trails. Planning a trip? Come during the summer months and picnic under the stars to the music of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, stroll around one of the state's largest Farmers' Market, or go kayaking and fly-fishing along the Farmington River.
This national honor lets the rest of the country know what many already know first-hand - that Simsbury has preserved the best of our heritage while making our town a place for modern families to live, work and play. Simsbury was also recently designated as one of the "Top 100 Best Places to Live" by Money Magazine, and is a federally designated Preserve America community.
