HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION

NOVEMBER 3, 2016

MINUTES FROM REGULAR MEETING

I.          ROLL CALL

Chairperson Diane Mead called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. in the Main Meeting Room of the Simsbury Town Offices.  Commission members present were Patricia Hyppaa, Jonathan Laschever, and Marguerite Rodney.  Also in attendance was Janis Prifti, Commission Clerk. 

II.        APPOINTMENT OF ALTERNATES

1.   Appointment of Alternates

No alternates were appointed.

III.       GENERAL COMMISSION BUSINESS

1.   Approve Proposed 2017 Meeting Schedule

The Commissioners agreed that the August meeting date should remain on the 2017 Meeting Schedule.

Commissioner Rodney made a motion to approve the 2017 Meeting Schedule, as submitted.

Commissioner Hyppaa seconded the motion, and it was approved unanimously.

IV.       APPROVAL OF MINUTES of the July 7, 2016 regular meeting

The Commissioners discussed a previous decision to deny a parking lot

On Line 139, the word "Commissioners" is changed to "Commissioner".

On Line 195, a period would follow the word "review" and a new sentence would begin with the word "If".

Commissioner Hyppaa made a motion to approve the July 7, 2016 minutes, as revised.

Commissioner Laschever seconded the motion, and it was passed unanimously.

The Commissioners noted they plan to discuss the grant being worked on by Staff at the next meeting.  It was anticipated there would be a December meeting to discuss a potential application.

V.        ADJOURNMENT

Commissioner Laschever made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:40 p.m. 

Commissioner Rodney seconded the motion, and it was passed unanimously.
