There are over 5,000 gardens open for public viewing in the world – botanic gardens, display gardens, historic gardens all with a singular history and attraction, such that today garden visiting may be the dominant mode of contemporary tourism. This one hour journey through five centuries and five continents, delivered by the world’s foremost expert in garden tourism, will explore this exciting, often bizarre and ever changing history, and that today brings us to a world of surprising economic value, health and welfare benefits for the human species but possibly above all the most beautiful visual expression of how wonderful the floral kingdom is.
