February 7, 2017

MINUTES FROM SPECIAL MEETING

I.             CALL TO ORDER

 

Chairman William Rice opened the Regular Meeting of the Planning Commission at 6:00 p.m. in the Engineering Conference Room at the Town Offices.  Also present were Jamie Rabbitt, Director of Planning and Community Development; and Michael Glidden, Assistant Town Planner (6:00pm-7:15pm).

 

II.            ROLL CALL

 

Commission members in attendance were:  William Rice, Holly Beum, Alan Needham, Ron Locandro and Erin Leavitt-Smith.  Chairman Rice noted rules governing this Commission stipulate a quorum is met with a minimum of 4 members present and a quorum is present tonight to conduct all business.

 

III            GENERAL BUSINESS

 

1.            Plan of Conservation and Development Workshop.

 

Discussion was held on the formation of the telephone survey and the need for the survey with staff.  The members also discussed the time line associated with the POCD and reviewed three time lines prepared by Glenn Chalder from Planimetrics.   It was the consensus of the Commission to stick with the original time line and add additional meetings to maintain timeline (including possible morning Saturday meetings).  Booklets 6 and 7 were distributed to the members present.  Mr. Rice asked the members to carefully review the material that has been submitted to date and be ready to discuss at the February 14, 2017 meeting.  The Commission also discussed the possibility of preparing an additional survey (Survey Monkey) to be available.  Staff stated that they would work to have a rough draft available for their February 14, 2017 meeting.  Discussion was held on the role of the POCD and the need to coordinate with the Town’s other land use commissions, as it relates to implementation.

 

IV            ADJOURNMENT 

Ron Locandro made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:00 p.m. Board Member Leavitt-Smith seconded the motion, and it was passed unanimously.
