Do I need to license my cat or other pet?
Domestic pets such as cats, ferrets, reptiles, and birds do not require a license in Connecticut. People who have a dog must obtain a license and tag for the dog, though.
The Town Clerk's Office issues dog licenses upon receipt of proof of Rabies vaccination from a veterinarian.
Cats must receive Rabies vaccinations, also. Cick here to find out more about Rabies, Animal Control Division, Department of Agriculture.
