Minutes of the Board of Assessment Appeals December 8, 2017 Special Meeting.

 

 

The meeting was called to order in the Main Meeting Room at 1:18 PM on a motion by Lori Fernand, seconded by Sean Brittell, and approved 2-0.  Present were members Lori Fernand and Sean Brittell and the assessor, David Gardner.

 

On Item 1 of the agenda, to see what action the board will take on electing a chairperson, on a motion by Sean Brittell, seconded by Lori Fernand, the board voted 2-0 to elect Lori Fernand to as the temporary chairperson until the first regular meeting of the board in March 2018.

 

On Item 2 of the agenda, the board reviewed the calendar and selected several meeting dates in March and April 2018, but took no action on approving the dates.  The board will instead meet on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 3:30 PM in the Main Meeting Room of the town office building to approve a schedule of meeting dates to submit to the town clerk by the January 31, 2018 deadline.  The dates identified so far are:

 

Thursday(s) March 8, 15, and 29 from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM; Tuesday, March 13, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM; Friday March 23, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM; and Friday, April 6, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Mr. Gardner suggested Monday, the 17th as the date of the September motor vehicle session, and mentioned the possibility of hosting a training workshop for board of assessment appeals members.

 

Ms. Fernand moved and Mr. Brittell seconded a motion to adjourn, which the board did at 1:55 PM.
