Simsbury Code of Ordinances

The Town of Simsbury’s Board of Selectmen has adopted a Stormwater Connection Ordinance to establish legal authority for compliance with the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Stormwater General Permit.  The Ordinance establishes an enforceable legal authority within the municipality to prohibit illicit discharges to its storm sewer system such as the dumping/disposal of materials in the MS4; investigate suspected illicit discharges; control discharge of spills; remove/eliminate illicit discharges, including from those properties not owned/operated by permittee and discharge in the MS4, as soon as possible upon detection; and implement appropriate enforcement procedures and action.

A copy of the Ordinance is available for public inspection at the Town Clerk’s Office and the Town Clerk shall, upon request, mail a copy of the Ordinance to any person requesting a copy at no charge.  The Ordinance is also available for review on the Town of Simsbury website, www.simsbury-ct.gov on the Board of Selectmen page.
