 Meeting Minutes

November 6th, 2019

Call to Order at 5:50pm.

Kristen Formanek, Staff Liaison to the Community for Care Committee called the meeting to order at 5:50pm on Wednesday, November 6th, 2019.  The meeting was held in Program Room 1 of the Simsbury Public Library.  In attendance were; Karen Gallager; Amy Muska, Sara Ray; Lt. Fred Sifodaskalakis, Becky Rosenthal; Sally Reiger, and Chris Kelly.

Public Audience: There was no public audience

New Business:

A discussion was held regarding the January program.  We would like to have a program regarding social media literacy and safety.  We would like to gear this presentation towards parents as similar presentations have been made to teens.   We discussed possible presenters and will also ask the SRO’s to participate. 

The revised, previously approved, 2019-2020 meeting calendar was distributed. 

A funding request has been made by A Promise to Jordan to the Youth Service Bureau to help support an upcoming program at the Simsbury High School. 

Kristen Formanek and Chris Kelly provided an update on SPIRIT Council.  Further conversation will be had as to how the SPIRIT Council will be organized in the future.  For now it is appropriate to be a branch of this Committee. 

Sub-Committee Reports:

Chris Kelly provided an update on the website.  He is hoping that there may be a student available to help on the website improvements.  He is still conducting quarterly audits.

Adjournment:  Ms. Formanek adjourned the meeting at 6:28pm.
