At-Home COVID Tests Available at Simsbury Public Library as of April 4

Starting Monday, April 4, 2022, the Town of Simsbury will make a supply of COVID test kits available for pick-up by the general public.  Test kits may be picked up at the Simsbury Public Library, 725 Hopmeadow Street, at the upper level circulation desk.  Normal business hours for the Library are as follows:

  • Monday-Thursday: 9:30am-8:30pm
  • Friday: 9:30am-5:30pm
  • Saturday: 9:30am-5:30pm
  • Sunday: 1:00pm-5:00pm

Distribution will be limited to one test kit per individual per visit (each kit contains two tests).  Kits will be distributed on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.

Home test kits are most effective for testing symptomatic individuals. The Farmington Valley Health District has provided the following guidance for using home tests: a positive test should be treated as a positive test and the individual should isolate, and conduct contact tracing. A symptomatic individual with a negative home test should use precaution to reduce the risk of spreading illness and seek a PCR test. For additional isolation and quarantine guidance, click here.
