Renters' Rebate Program

The Town of Simsbury Department of Community and Social Services will begin taking applications for the Renters' Rebate program on Monday, May 4, 2020.  Renters’ Rebate is a program administered by the State of Connecticut which provides a reimbursement for eligible Connecticut renters who are older or living with a disability, and whose income does not exceed determined limits.

To qualify for this program you must: be a CT resident for a least one year; be age 65 or older; or be age 50 or older and the surviving spouse of a renter who at the time of their death had qualified; or be age 18 or older and eligible to receive Social Security Disability benefits.  You must reside in the apartment for which the benefit is claimed and have lived in CT for at least one year.  Income limits are $37,000 (annual gross) for a single person and $45,100 for a couple.

Although the Department plans to begin accepting applications on May 4, this may be delayed as Town buildings are currently closed to the public and staff is performing most work remotely.  Please contact the Department of Community and Social Services at (860) 658-3283 with any questions.
