AQUIFER PROTECTION AGENCY - SPECIAL MEETING – 6:45 PM
ADOPTED MINUTES
OCTOBER 7, 2013


I.  CALL TO ORDER
Commissioner Robert Pomeroy called the special meeting for the Aquifer Protection Agency to order at 7:00PM on Monday, October 7, 2013 in the Main Meeting Room of the Simsbury Town Offices located at 933 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury, CT.  The following members were present: Edward Cosgrove, Will Fiske, Edward Pabich, Derek Peterson, and Dave Ryan. Others in attendance included Hiram Peck, Director of Planning, and other interested parties.

II. APPOINTMENT OF ALTERNATES
Commissioner Pomeroy appointed Commissioner Peterson for Commissioner Post and Commissioner Pabich for Commissioner Salls.  

III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Minutes from March 5, 2013 Special Meeting were unanimously approved.

IV. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE VOTE

1. Registration of David G. Marren, Registrant for the F. A. Bartlett Tree Expert Company for the tree care company located on the property at 1250 Hopmeadow Street as an entity that has regulated activities occurring in the Simsbury Aquifer Protection Area.

Mr. Peck stated that Bartlett was originally planning on leaving the property but has since come back and plans to stay in the building and submitted the plan required, meeting all requirements of the plan for the Aquifer Protection Area. His recommendation is that the application is accepted by the Commission.

Commissioner Pabich moved for approval Registration of David G. Marren, Registrant for the F. A. Bartlett Tree Expert Company for the tree care company located on the property at 1250 Hopmeadow Street as an entity that has regulated activities occurring in the Simsbury Aquifer Protection Area.  The motion was seconded by Commissioner Fiske and was unanimously approved.

2. Possible adaption of the modification of the Zoning Map to show the Tariffville Aquifer Protection Area

Mr. Peck stated that because this is a public hearing item, he thinks it is important to notify people that will be affected by the change in the map prior to having the public hearing.

Commissioner Fiske moved for approval of the adoption of the modification of the Zoning Map to show the Tariffville Aquifer Protection Area and to hold a public hearing on November 21, 2013. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Pabich and was unanimously approved.

VI. ADJOURNMENT

Commissioner Cosgrove made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:05 P.M.  The motion was seconded by Commissioner Fiske and was unanimously approved.
