The Police Department is currently accepting applications for entry level police officer.  Apply at PoliceApp.com.  Applications will be accepted on-line only from September 15, 2016 through October 15, 2016. 

The Simsbury Police Department participates in the Connecticut Police Chiefs Association (CPCA) written examination for all entry level police officer applicants (optional for current CT certified police officers).  Information about the written examination can be located at https://www.policeapp.com/Police-Associations/CPCA-Consortium/.

The Simsbury Police Department uses the Complete Health and Injury Prevention (C.H.I.P. ) to administer the physical ability assessment.  More information about the exam can be located at http://www.chip-inc.com/certification/default.asp.

The current salary range for police officer is $59,727.64 – $86,943.59 with a generous benefit plan.  Minimum eligibility requirements at time of hire are: U.S. citizen, 21 years of age or older, valid motor vehicle operator's license; no criminal convictions for any felony or class A or B misdemeanors, high school graduate or GED.  Testing will include a written exam, an oral exam, a physical agility exam (valid CHIP certification required during the scheduling of an oral exam), an extensive background investigation, a psychological exam, a polygraph exam, a medical exam and a controlled substance screen.  When there is a vacancy, applications will only be accepted on line through policeapp.com.
