Register to Vote

NOTICE OF SPECIAL SESSION If you’ve moved, changed your name, or have other corrections to make to your voter registration, please contact the Registrar of Voters office at 658-3267 or 658-3269.  Changes can be made anytime through April 1, but the Registrars will be holding a special primary enrollment session on Friday, March 15 from noon-2:00 p.m. to prepare for the April 2 Democratic and Republican Presidential Preference Primaries. Registrars will hear requests for adding names to the registry list by persons removed. The office of the Registrar of Voters is located at Simsbury Town Hall, 933 Hopmeadow Street. Registering to vote is easy. 

To register to vote online, visit the State of Connecticut's Online Voter Registration System by clicking here.

You must have a valid driver’s license, learner’s permit or non-driver photo identification card issued by the CT Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and a signature on file with DMV to use the online system.

Mail-in applications are available at the Registrars’ office. Call (860) 658-3267 or (860) 658-3269 and one will be sent to you. 

You may also register to vote in person at the Town Hall, 933 Hopmeadow Street on Mondays from 8:30am to 7:00pm, or Tuesday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm, either at the office of the Registrars or at the Town Clerk's office. When your application has been approved, you will receive a Letter of Acceptance, which will indicate your polling place.

To register to vote in Connecticut, you MUST be a United States citizen; be a resident of a Connecticut town; be at least 17 years old (must turn 18 before election day); and have completed confinement and parole if previously convicted of a felony.
