Simsbury Town Hall – Main Meeting Room

PRESENT:             Joseph Campolieta, Jackie Battos, Michael Doyle, Kevin Gray, Bruce Elliott

 

ABSENT:               Dave Ryan, Donna Bernstein, Gerald Post

 

ALSO PRESENT: Michael Glidden CFM CZEO, Director of Planning & Community Development

 

I.             CALL TO ORDER:              

Chairman Kevin Gray called the meeting to order at 6:45PM

 

II.            APPOINTMENT OF ALTERNATES:

Joseph Campolieta was seated for Dave Ryan

 

III.           APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

No changes were made regarding the Special Meeting minutes from February 5, 2018 and the meeting minutes were approved as filed.

 

IV.          NEW BUSINESS:

a.            Renewal of the registration of The F.A. Bartlett Tree Expert Company for the tree care company located on the property at 1250 Hopmeadow Street (Assessor’s Map 105, Block 439, Lot 001) as an entity that has regulated activities occurring in the Simsbury Aquifer Protection Area.

Rick Daniels, local manager of the Simsbury office of The F.A. Bartlett Tree Expert Company located at 1250 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury, was present to speak on the application renewal and answer questions. He noted that his company had a couple of new brands of chemicals, and that he added a dumpster to dispose of wood. Mr. Daniels spoke of the disposal and mixing of chemicals.

Mr. Elliott questioned Mr. Daniels on how long the company been on that site. Mr. Daniels answered that he has been there more than five years, but that the company has been in that building for approximately thirty years.

Mr. Elliott asked how many times the company has gone through this applications process. Mr. Daniels reported that this is the second time he has gone through the application process.

M. Glidden reported that staff has not had any concerns or issues with enforcement; the application was very complete. He also noted that this site is one of the cleaner sites and that the company should be commended.

Motion: Mr. Campolieta made a motion to renew the registration for Regulated Activities in the Simsbury Aquifer Protection Area. Ms. Battos seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

 

V.            ADJOURNMENT:

Motion: Mr. Campolieta made a motion to adjourn at 6:50PM. The motion was seconded by Ms. Battos.  The motion passed unanimously.
