TOWN OF SIMSBURY BOARD OF ASSESSMENT APPEALS
Subject to Vote of Approval - Special Meeting Minutes: April 23, 2015 – 1 page

 

The Board of Assessment Appeals met via telephone conference call in the assessor’s office, room 114, Simsbury Town Hall. The outside door was unlocked at 4:51 p.m. Sharon Lawson arrived in person at about 4:56 p.m. to join David Gardner, the assessor. Stephen Nocera, chairman, joined them by telephone at 4:59 p.m. The meeting was opened at 5:00 p.m. by Mr. Nocera. The assessor read the agenda and gave background information about the matters before the board, for its consideration.

 

Stephen Nocera made, and Sharon Lawson seconded, all of the following motions.
They all passed 2-0:

 

1.   To accept the assessor’s recommended value for 19 Tootin’ Hill Road of 295,840. 
      (This is a 16% reduction from the 2007 assessment).

 

2.   To reduce the assessment of 22 Neal Drive by changing the lot influence factor
      from -5% to -30%, resulting in assessment of 185,320.

 

3.   To affirm the assessment—voted upon at the March 18, 2015 Special Meeting of the
      Board of Assessment Appeals—on Map A10, Block 419, Lot 13-2 of Shingle Mill Road,
      belonging to Nevin Christensen, in the amount of 79,910.

 

4.  To adjourn, which the board did, at 5:07 PM.
