The program is available to residents of Simsbury who are age 60 and older, or persons with disabilities.

The program runs Monday through Friday, and provides transportation around town for medical appointments, shopping, Senior Center activities, hairdresser/barber appointments, Library, Town Hall, and visiting with a friend. Trips to area Malls are made on Mondays. Tuesday mornings a trip is provided to Granby Center for medical appointments, banking, laundromat, food shopping, and Library. Wednesday afternoons and Friday mornings transportation is provided to Avon for medical appointments, stores along Route 44, the Simsbury Commons, and Big Y/Wal*Mart. Medical appointments in Granby should be scheduled for Tuesday mornings, and medical appointments in Avon should be scheduled for Wednesday afternoons or Friday mornings. Schedule your Dial-A-Ride reservation when you schedule your medical appointment.

Reservations can be made between 8:00am and 12:00 noon at least the day before you need the ride at (860) 693-6876. This service is door-to-door. If, because of space/time constraints, we are unable to serve anyone on a given day, priority will be given to medical appointments and food shopping.

An annual donation of $25 for an individual or $35 for a couple purchases a Dial-A-Ride pass, which is available at the Senior Center and Social Services Offices. The drivers cannot accept donations.

Medical Transportation (Out-of-Town) is funded through a ConnDot Grant, and provides transportation to medical appointments outside the regular Dial-A-Ride Program. Call to make your reservation at (860) 693-6876 as soon as your medical appointment has been scheduled. Should the Medical Transportation be unable to provide transportation, please call us at (860) 658-3283 for a copy of the Alternative Transportation Resource List. Anyone unable to afford the cost of medical transportation may apply to the Social Services Department for assistance.
