Simsbury Code of Ordinances

The Town of Simsbury’s Board of Selectmen has adopted amendments to the Tax Abatement for Volunteer Firefighters and Ambulance Personnel Ordinance, which established a tax abatement program for volunteer fire and ambulance personnel pursuant to the conditions set forth in the Ordinance.  The adopted amendments to the Ordinance include: correcting a scrivener’s error to ensure that qualifying retirees receive the benefit; clarifying language to ensure that the benefit will be provided to volunteers and retirees who reside in Town and own a motor vehicle or other taxable property; and eliminating this benefit for residents who provide services to another town.

A copy of the Ordinance is available for public inspection at the Town Clerk’s Office and the Town Clerk shall, upon request, mail a copy of the Ordinance to any person requesting a copy at no charge.  The Ordinance is also available for review on the Town of Simsbury website, www.simsbury-ct.gov on the Board of Selectmen page.
