MEETING MINUTES

September 8, 2021

ROLL CALL – The following members were present: Cheryl Cook, Dep. Chief Davis, Amy Muska, Kristen Formanek, Director Simsbury Community and Social Services, Tom Steen, Sarah Gwinn, Gene Ott, Amy Muska, Karen Gallagher and Deborah Schwager.

CALL TO ORDER – The meeting was called to order at 5:38pm.

PUBLIC AUDIENCE/PUBLIC COMMENTS - None

ACTION ITEMS – Gene Ott made a motion to accept the minutes of May 12, 2021, and Tom Steen seconded the motion.  All were in favor.

NEW BUSINESS – The committee discussed the updating and testing of resources on the website.  Amy Muska volunteered to review the resources prior to our next meeting.

Kristen Formanek updated the committee on programs and services available to residents at Social Services and the increase in requests for mental health services.

The committee discussed possible programing options for the November meeting and program.  The committee agreed to meet in person if a space is available and to present a program on Mindfulness following the meeting.  Amy Muska and Deb Schwager agreed to coordinate participants for the program.

The committee discussed future possible program topics and a potential health resources list for residents to be available on the website.

A motion to adjourn the regular meeting was made by Tom Steen and seconded by Deb Schwager.  All were in favor. The members adjourned to the planned program on Teens and Mental Health.

ADJOURNMENT – The meeting was adjourned at 6:25pm
