UPDATE: COVID Test Distribution
On late Wednesday evening, the State informed the Town that they do not have the COVID home test kits that were intended for use in our January 3rd distribution event. As of Wednesday night, the kits were still located in California. The Town is hopeful that we will have them in time for our planned distribution on Monday, January 3, 2022. We are being told by the State they will inform us when they have arrived in Connecticut. If we do not receive the kits in time for Monday, we will make an announcement and postpone the distribution event.
We are painfully aware that the amount of tests allocated to the Town of Simsbury is far below the demand. There simply are not enough kits being provided by the State to provide one to every household. Due to the limited quantities, this distribution event is anticipated to be a one-day event. The State has announced that the second round of distribution will be going to the school systems directly. Details on that will be released in the future.
