What to Expect for Town Meeting – April 24, 2021

A Town Meeting will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Simsbury Farms Ice Rink (100 Old Farms Road) to consider the proposed resolution to acquire and fund the purchase of the property known as Meadowood.

The Town Meeting was called by the Board of Selectmen following a citizen petition regarding the proposed acquisition of the Meadowood property. The Town Meeting is a procedural step required by the Town Charter, and will allow all qualified voters of the Town of Simsbury the opportunity to provide public comment on the proposed acquisition.

The vote on the Meadowood resolution will NOT be taken at Town Meeting.  The citizen petition process and the dollar value of the potential acquisition require this item to be sent to a vote at referendum. Following the Special Town Meeting, the proposed resolution will be sent to automatic referendum, anticipated for May 4^th.
