2.         Pledge of Allegiance

3.         Public Audience

Ms. Heavner offered the opportunity for public audience.  No members of the public were present.

4.         Approval of minutes of meeting on May 27, 2014

Mr. Askham made a motion to approve the minute of the May 27, 2014 Special Meeting.  Ms. Cook seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

5.     Discussion and possible action on Request for Proposals for Employment Counsel

Mr. Cooke explained that, at the request of the Personnel Sub-Committee, he had reviewed the Employment Counsel RFP responses and identified three firms for potential interviews, including Siegel, O’Connor, O’Donnell & Beck, P.C. (the current employment counsel), Metzger Lazarek & Plumb and Murtha Cullina LLP.  He added that he had narrowed the choices to those with geographical proximity to the Town and, based upon references, identified the three firms noted.  A discussion of Mr. Cooke’s June 19, 2014 memorandum ensued.  The Sub-Committee noted that one of the firms was proposing a significantly higher fee than the other two.  Mr. Cooke stated that he would investigate the firm’s willingness to lower its fee to a more competitive level.

Mr. Askham made a motion to authorize Mr. Cooke to set interview dates with the appropriate firms after consulting with Murtha Cullina about their rate.  Ms. Cook seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

6.         Adjourn

Mr. Askham made a motion to adjourn the meeting.  Ms. Cook seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.  The meeting adjourned at 6:40 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
