MINUTES

1. Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 5:15 pm. Sub-Committee Chair Lisa Heavner and Committee member Cheryl Cook were present. Committee member Sean Askham joined the meeting at 5:20 pm. Director of Administrative Services Tom Cooke, Deputy Director of Administrative Services Sean Kimball and Siegel, O’Connor, O’Donnell & Beck attorneys Peter Janus and Bud O’Donnell were also present.

No members of the public were present.

4. Interviews of respondents to request for proposal for labor counsel

a. Siegel, O’Connor, O’Donnell & Beck, P.C.

The Sub-Committee conducted an interview of Messrs. Janus and O’Donnell concerning the firm’s proposal to provide legal services in the labor and employment law area to the Town of Simsbury. The interview concluded at 5:55 pm.

b. Rose Kallor LLP

Michael Rose of Rose Kallor LLP joined the meeting. The Sub-Committee conducted an interview of Mr. Rose concerning Rose Kallor’s proposal to provide legal services in the labor and employment law area to the Town of Simsbury. The interview concluded at 6:40 pm and Mr. Rose left the meeting.

5. Possible recommendation based upon interviews

The Personnel Sub-Committee discussed the substance of the interviews. Mr. Cooke will set up a second day of interviews with attorneys from Metzger Lazarek & Plumb and Murtha Cullina.
