                                                           Special Meeting August 28, 2014

Chairman Ostop called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. in the Board of Education Conference Room

In Simsbury Town Hall.

Present – Boardman, Dragulski, Kelly, Laureno, Ostop, Patrina

Absent  - Cortes, Derr, Salvatore

Guests  - LaClair, Shea, White, (Henry James Principal)

Interview architects for Board of Education Projects

The first interview was with Jacunski Humes Architects, LLC who bid on both Henry James Memorial School Renovation and Squadron Line School Renovation.  Presentation was given by Mr. Jacunski and Mr. Grabinsky.  Following the presentation there was Q and A .

The second interview was with Kaestle Boos Associates, Inc. who bid on Henry James Memorial School Renovation.  Presentation was given by Mr. Solywoda, Mr. Monroe and Mr. Ricard. Following the presentation there was Q and A.

At the conclusion of the interviews there was discussion re the bidders for the projects in the two interview meetings.  There was unanimous consensus to eliminate ID3A, LLC and Friar Associates 

and to further discuss Jacunski Humes Architects, LLC, Kaestle Boos Associates, Inc. and Phase Zero Design at the regular PBC meeting Sept. 2, 2014.  Chairman Ostop and Mr. LaClair will follow up re some of the contractors noted in presentations.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m. on a motion by Mr. Dragulski, a second by Mr. Laureno and a unanimously favorable vote.
