Simsbury Swimming

Swimming: The pond at Stratton Brook State Park has a life guard and is fed by lovely fresh water from Stratton Brook. For information on this State Park go to www.ct.gov/deep, and select State Parks & Forests.

There are public pools at Simsbury Farms on 100 Old Farms Rd.; 860-658-3836; www.simsbury-ct.gov/simsbury-farms. These include four separate pool areas; a 25 yard, eight lane pool, a 25 by 50 foot training area, a specially designed wading pool, and a separate diving pool.

There is also swimming at the town's War Memorial Pool in Memorial Park at 22 Plank Hill Road by the upper softball field. The complex also includes a wading pool. Both are open from the end of June through mid August.

You can swim in the Farmington River at any of the places you might put in a canoe, but there are no life guards.
