V. Reports

1.  Website
Lori Fernand reports that we need to change DEP to DEEP and make changes to Officers.
Mary Turner suggests the Recycling Committee should be moved to another location on the  town's website. Mary has spoken to webmaster Rick Bazzano and is waiting to hear back from  him. Mary asks everyone to look at website and give feedback for next meeting.

VI.  Old Business

1.    Recycling Award:
Lori Fernand spoke to Melissa and John Brett from Welden Hardware and they graciously    accepted  the award for 2012, which will be presented in April 2013.

2.   Soles-4-Souls Program (Michelle Harrington, Simsbury High School):
Nancy Thoma spoke with Michelle Harrington and reported that she will try to attend March's meeting.

Lori Fernand suggests we can look at Salvation Army and Goodwill as a backup to Soles 4 Souls.

3.  Adjusted Meeting Schedule:
Mary Turner makes a motion to move up adjusted meeting schedule from new business. Lori Fernand seconded this motion. The motion is to change March's meeting from Thursday March 28th to Thursday March 21st because of a conflict with a religious holiday.

4.   Annual Plan:
Lori Fernand reports that we can add the donations from the Swap Shoppe to Simsbury's Recycling Efforts.

Lori Fernand looked at audits done by other towns on the DEEP website.
Shows a Powerpoint of the Middletown Audit, Middletown audited their town hall by looking through their garbage and calculating recyclable materials, garbage, and compostable materials. They also have information on how to audit a business and audit a restaurant. Suggests that we can do this in Simsbury, this would be a great time since we just started single stream recycling.

Lori will research when would be a good date and time to do an audit and get back to us next meeting.

5. Facebook:
Janice Kern will “create a page” on facebook for the Simsbury Recycling Committee.
