JUVENILE REVIEW BOARD
MINUTES
August 9, 2021
A meeting of the Juvenile Review Board was convened on Monday, August 9, 2021 in the Simsbury Police Department, Simsbury Town Hall, 933 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury, Connecticut. The meeting was called to order at 9:34 by the Chair.
Present: Kristen Formanek, Chairwoman
John Thibeault, Supervisor, Culture, Parks & Recreation
Pastor Chris Dion
Michael Paine, BOS Liaison
Chris Davis, Deputy Chief, Simsbury Police Department
Marilyn Rotondo
Public Comment: None
Updates from the Chair: Meetings can now be in person with masks, or fully virtual. This Board will continue to meet in person.
Action Items:
- Minutes from May 10, 2021, were approved as presented. Motion was made by Marilyn Rotondo, motion seconded by Chris Dion. Voting in favor: Kristen Formanek, John Thibeault, Chris Dion, Michael Paine, and Marilyn Rotondo. No motions against. Chris Davis abstained. Motion carried, 5-0-1.
New Business: None
Old Business: None
Motion was made by Mike Paine to move to Executive Session to hear Case #289. Motion seconded by John Thibeault. All present and voting in favor, motion carried, 6-0-0. Moved into Executive Session at 9:54 a.m.
Moved from Executive Session at 10:28 a.m. to deliver results. Youth will be required to write a three-page essay and complete 20 hours of supervised community service, and is strongly encouraged to undergo therapy, both individual and family.
At 10:40 a.m. motion was made by Marilyn Rotondo to adjourn the meeting. Motion was seconded by John Thibeault. All present and voting in favor. Motion carried, 6-0-1.
