Mental Health Resource List
The Town of Simsbury wants to remind residents that mental health resources are available.
Suicide is a public health issue. We are all gatekeepers for someone at risk for suicide. It could be a family member, neighbor, friend, and even the person you least suspect of this devastating act.
On average, someone dies every day by suicide in Connecticut. Suicide was the 10th leading cause of death in the U.S. in 2011, and has been one of the top five leading causes of death in Connecticut for 10-54 year-olds
Suicide touches all ages and backgrounds, all racial and ethnic groups, in all parts of the country.
For signs/symptoms, click here to visit our Mental Health Assistance page.
For anyone in immediate danger, call 911. For people not in immediate danger, but needing someone to talk with about suicidal feelings, in addition to the resource list attached, you can call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255, or click here to visit their website. You can also call the Wheeler Clinic’s help line for the Farmington Valley at (860) 524-1182.
