INVITATION TO BID:

1999 Kenworth T800B semi-tractor
and/or
2001 Tremcar 6000 gallon stainless steel tanker

Sealed bids will be received at the Office of the Director of Finance, PO BOX 495, 933 Hopmeadow St. (Rt. 10/202),  Simsbury, CT  06070, until  May 5, 2011, at 10:00 a.m., E.D.T., at which time they will be opened in public.  Bids received after time set for the opening will be rejected.

Inspection of each vehicle is by appointment, 860-658-1380, at Simsbury Water Pollution Control, 36 Drake Hill Road, Simsbury, CT 06070.

The right is reserved to reject any or all bids or to waive defects in same if it be deemed in the best interest of the Town of Simsbury.  Bids for the each vehicle will be considered separately.

INFORMATION FOR BIDDERS

Proposals

Proposals must be made on the form furnished and be enclosed in a sealed envelope addressed to the Director of Finance, Town Hall, Simsbury, CT, endorsed "BID, TRACTOR/TANKER" with the name of the bidder and the date and time of Bid opening on the envelope.

Any and all State sales tax, use tax, or other fees shall not be included in the bid price.

Reserve Bid

The reserve bid for each vehicle is $25,000.

Pick-up

Successful bidders will take delivery of and remove purchased equipment within two (2) weeks of bid award.  Equipment will be stored at Simsbury Water Pollution Control Facility, 36 Drake Hill Road, Simsbury, Connecticut.  Pick-up date and time will be by appointment.

Full payment must be made prior to title transfer.  Proof of insurance must be provided prior to removing vehicle(s).

Warranty

No warranty, real or implied is provided.  Each vehicle is being sold “as is, where is.”
