POLICE COMMISSION

SPECIAL MEETING

MARCH 19, 2015

 

 

1.         CALL TO ORDER

 

The Special Meeting of the Police Commission was called to order at 4:32 P.M. in the Police Department Training Room of the Simsbury Town Offices.  Present were Chairman Michael Long, Commissioner Carl Eisenmann, Commissioner James Fleming, Commissioner Edward Cosgrove, Chief Peter Ingvertsen, Captain Nicholas Boulter and Lieutenant Fred Sifodaskalakis.  Commissioner Brendan Walsh was not in attendance.

 

2.         PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

 

3.         ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION

 

Chief Ingvertsen introduced candidate for probationary patrol officer, Kevin Marano and presented a brief biography of the candidate.  After answering questions from the Commission, Marano a certified officer said he is very pleased to be working in a town with a Community Policing philosophy and looks forward to serving the Town.

 

Commissioner Fleming made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Eisenmann.  Chairman Long, Commissioner Fleming and Commissioner Eisenmann voted in favor of the motion. Commissioner Cosgrove voted against the motion.  The motion passed to approve the appointment of Kevin Marano as a probationary patrol officer.

 

Chief Ingvertsen introduced candidate for probationary patrol officer, Justin Johnson and presented a brief biography of the candidate.  After answering questions from the Commission, Johnson said he is very pleased to receive an offer of employment from the Town of Simsbury and looks forward to serving the Town once he completes the Police Academy.

 

Commissioner Eisenmann made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Fleming.  Chairman Long, Commissioner Fleming and Commissioner Eisenmann voted in favor of the motion. Commissioner Cosgrove voted against the motion.  The motion passed to approve the appointment of Justin Johnson as a probationary patrol officer.

 

4.         AJOURNMENT

 

Commissioner Fleming made motion to adjourn at 4:50 P.M. Commissioner Eisenmann seconded the motion.  All were in favor and the motion passed.
