The following is from our new page called Scams.

There are numerous types of scams or fraudulent schemes to trick someone to pay for something.  There are telephone, mail, in person, e-mail and social media scams.  If you suspect that someone is trying to scam you, do not provide them with any information, but collect as much information as you can (e.g. caller identification, name or telephone number, etc.) and report it to you local police depratment.
