Simsbury Tourism Committee 

SImsbury Chamber of Commerce - 749 Hopmeadow St.
May 20, 2013

In Attendence: Liz Banco, Dominique Avery, Pat Carbone, Kathy Oakes, Steve Mitchell, Barbara O'Connor, Shannon Knall, Paulette Clark, Angela Campetti, Jeff Brush, Jerry Lintner and Jan Lintner

1. Meeting called to order at 7:30PM

2. Review and Approval of Minutes of April 13, 2013

3. Old Business:

   A. We welcomed Angela Campetti as a new member and introduced ourselves all around.
   B. Barbara, Pat and Paulette reported on the Volunteer Expo and Paulette reported results of the survey sent to participants.  Results proved to be very positive. Discussion was held on possible changing of date or other changes we would wish to make on presenting this venue, in the future.
   C. Liz discussed the review of our budget, which has been reduced for the coming year.
   D. Meeting schedule was discussed and June will be changed to the Apple Barn.  Dominique will report to us in June our meeting schedule for the balance of 2013.
    E. Liz discussed Septemberfest Sept. 6 to 8 and our involvement.  Pat and Angela volunteered to man any area where we will locate our tent.

4. New Business:

    A. Jeff Brush spoke to us on the Patch, on the value of blogs, how to start a blog, and problem solving. He gave us information on the new format, and offered his services where we would be having a problem, as an individual or as a whole.
    B. Jerry Lintner of Flower Bridge told of how it began, and Dominique initiating the idea of calling it a
Flower Bridge and how that came to fruition.  Jan Lintner spoke of the maintenance necessary to maintain it's beauty, and of the vandalism we endured.  She told of all the events people are having at the bridge, picnics, weddings, etc. June 12 will be a Burgers on the Bridge event as a fundraiser.

5. Other Business:

    A. Liz covered assignments for the phone tree, and asked for members to assist in the Memorial Day tour of our newly renovated Eno Hall.  We   have 3 committee members working for that event.

6. Adjournment was 9:30PM.
