TOWN OF SIMSBURY - BOARD OF SELECTMEN
SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES – APRIL 9, 2014
CALL TO ORDER
First Selectman Mary Glassman called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. in the Main Meeting Room of the Simsbury Town Offices. In attendance were Glassman, Sean Askham, Cheryl Cooke, Lisa Heavner and Mike Paine. Nancy Haase was absent.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance.
PUBLIC AUDIENCE
None
SELECTMEN ACTION
a) Approve Public Gathering Permit Applications
Parks and Recreation Director Gerry Toner explained that the Performing Arts Center requested the special meeting to approve public gathering permit applications because the extra time was needed to go through the State Liquor Control Commission process.
Ms. Glassman explained that the public gathering permits had been reviewed and approved by town staff. Ms. Heavner stated that the Performing Arts Center Board also plans to sell beer and wine at the May 18, 2014 Try Simsbury event which was not planned on earlier.
Mr. Toner stated that the Zoning Commission also reviewed that event and approved the request under the PAC Board’s approval.
Mr. Askham moved to approve the public gathering permits for the May 18th Try Simsbury event, the Lynyrd Skynyrd Concert on June 13th; the Willie Nelson concert on June 15th; the Talcott Mountain Music Festival from June 27th to July 26th and Septemberfest, September 5-7th. Mr. Paine seconded the motion. The board voted unanimously in favor of the motion.

Mr. Askham moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:37 p.m. Ms. Cook seconded the motion. The board voted unanimously to adjourn.
