SCHEDULE

Monday thru Friday: Along with the regular trips around Simsbury, West Simsbury, Tariffville, and Weatogue, the bus goes to Big Y in Simsbury, and Fitzgerald’s Plaza.

Tuesday mornings: Along with the regular trips, the bus also takes passengers to Granby until noon.

Wednesdays and Fridays: Along with the regular trips the bus also takes passengers to Avon. (They have been going in the mornings but times may change somewhat because of the scheduling of doctor appointments.) For the shopping bus (Walmart, etc.) all passengers travel together and back as a group.

Reservations can be made between 8 am and noon at least the day before you need the ride, at (860) 693-6876. (In-town medical appointments can be scheduled up to three weeks in advance.) Due to space/time constraints, if they are unable to serve anyone on a given day, priority will be given to medical appointments and food shopping. Please remember to call and schedule your appointments between 8 am and noon no later than one business day before your requested trip. Same-day appointments are never accepted.

Drivers must adhere to their schedules and routes. Any changes or inquiries must go through the scheduling/dispatch desk, at (860) 693-6876.

Medical transportation out of town is funded through a ConnDot Grant, and provides transportation to medical appointments outside the regular Dial-A-Ride Program.

Each rider is allotted UP TO TWO out-of-town medical appointments per month that are not covered by the standard Dial-A-Ride schedule. Included towns are restricted to Avon, Granby, Canton, Bloomfield, West Hartford, Farmington, Hartford, and the Newington Veteran’s Hospital. We are not able to accommodate regular dialysis rides.

Call to make your reservation at (860) 693-6876 as soon as your medical appointment has been scheduled. Same-day appointments are never accepted. Drivers must adhere to their schedules and routes; any changes or inquiries must go through the scheduling/dispatch desk.

If Dial-A-Ride is unable to provide medical transportation, please call Social Services at (860) 658-3283 for a list of Alternative Transportation Resources.
