TOWN OF SIMSBURY
SPECIAL MEETING
MONDAY, MAY 1, 2023 at 6:00 P.M.
PRESENT: David Ryan, Bruce Elliott, Anne Erickson, Kevin Gray, Diane Madigan and Jackie Battos

ALSO PRESENT: Planning and Community Development Director George McGregor; Assistant Town Planner Brittany MacGilpin and Code Compliance Officer Laura Barkowski. Food service/community members present: Kevin Farley, Chris Nelson, Tyler Anderson, a representative for the Talcott Mountain Collective, Steven Antonio, Sarah Nielsen and David Richman.

I. CALL TO ORDER: Mr. Ryan called this special meeting to order at 6:03 p.m.

II. GENERAL COMMISSION BUSINESS

Food Truck Regulations Workshop

Staff gave background on what has been happening in town and the need for food truck
regulations and advised the Commission as to what needs to be the focus. In attendance
were several restaurant owners in town. They agreed that a mobile food vendor should
not be allowed as an accessory use; must be at the same address as their brick and mortar
location. Also agreed is that mobile food vendors must be a one pay transaction. Staff has been directed to draft a proposal and same will be forwarded to the restaurant owners that were present for this workshop.

III. ADJOURNMENT: Mr. Gray moved to adjourn the meeting at 6:49 p.m.
VOTE: Ms. Erickson seconded.
